"We, the nurses and concerned citizens of the global community, hereby dedicate ourselves to the accomplishment of a healthy world by the year 2020. We declare our willingness to unite in a program of action, sharing information and solutions to resolve problems and improve conditions -- locally, nationally and globally -- in order to achieve health for all humanity. We further resolve to adopt personal practices and to implement public policies in our communities and nations, making this goal for the year 2020 achievable and inevitable, beginning today in our own lives, in the life of our nations and in the world at large."

The Nightingale Declaration has far been signed by signatories from the following countries: Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Kosovo, Nigeria, the Phillipines, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and USA.

"Nightingale Declaration for Our Healthy World" is being circulated and signed by millions of nurses, health care professionals, educators and other caregivers across the world between 2004 and 2007, well in advance of the proposed United Nations General Assembly Resolutions for an International Year of the Nurse in 2010 and a United Nations Decade for a Healthy World, 2010-2020.

The International Year of the Nurse--2010 [the Centennial of Nightingale's death]
The UN Decade for a Healthy World--2011 to 2020 [the Bicentennial of Nightingale's birth]

Um abraço,

Mi dear nuno,

you have tha same name of mi yonger son.

You are not a new member, so you must understand that the effot you take is not valid, not in our contry...You must, first, appaud the efforts of all the nurses in Portugal that can not speak a word of english, but can give to their patients real nurses care.

All at one, we will win!
